Fritz Glasser, CIMA®

Founding advisor, CEO

Fritz draws on his talents as a coach to help clients define their financial goals and guide them along the right path to achieving them. He assumes the same role within the firm, working with team members to implement Optas’s investment approach and strategy in the best interests of every client.

This client-centered philosophy led Fritz to establish Optas as a firm that has the freedom and flexibility to customize the most appropriate solutions for each client. Fritz’s more than two decades of experience in the industry has underscored the importance of dynamic financial planning and investment services as opposed to the stale cookie-cutter approaches offered by many mainstream firms.

Fritz began his career in 1994 at Smith Barney. Two years later, he became a founding partner of the San Jose Corporate Services Consulting Group at Paine Webber. While at Paine Webber (later UBS Financial Services), he developed his acumen in specialized financial solutions, including equity compensation and risk management.

Fritz met Optas co-founder Meghan Railey, CFP® at UBS Financial Services. In 2010, they joined Wells Fargo Advisors, where Fritz served as Managing Director of Investments. Together, Fritz and Meghan established Optas in 2019 to fulfill their shared vision of serving as financial advocates and wealth stewards for their clients.

Fritz graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Speech Communication, which has proved extremely helpful in communicating to clients the best course of action for achieving their financial goals. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) professional designation.

Beyond Optas, Fritz puts his coaching talents to use as an assistant coach for the mountain bike team at Redwood High School in Larkspur, California. An active pilot, he volunteers as a Mission Pilot for Angel Flight West, reducing travel time for cancer patients who live a significant distance away from hospitals where they receive chemotherapy treatments. Fritz also enjoys racing sailboats, cycling, and spending quality time with his wife and two sons.
